Carus Corporation began an expansion initiative in the 1990's when Carus acquired Technical Products Corporation (TPC) in 1997 and the Kjell Corporation in 1998. As a result of these two acquisitions, Carus became the leading U. S. supplier of corrosion control products for drinking water utilities. In December of 2006, Carus further secured its position as the leader in this industry by acquiring CalciQuest Inc. With the addition of the CalciQuest lines to the existing product lines, Carus now has available the most complete line of sequestering agents and corrosion inhibitors to serve the potable water industry. In addition to the phosphate lines, Carus has acquired a complete line of Primary Coagulants and Specialty Polymers for water and wastewater applications.
